I Finally Picked Up the Shark!!
WOW! What an awesome day. A long, long time ago, Caroline went on a fishing trip...during Art Basel. With a big huge group of people and our excellent host, Kehinde Wiley (www.kehindewiley.com). Caroline caught a big (well, not so big) ol' reef shark. Before I could say "wow!" the captain hooked it. Like with a giant hook that impaled poor little shark. Soooo..not to waste such beauty, we had it sent to the taxidermist! Eww icky ewww.
Now, fast forward 10 months. Lots of travelling, break ups, moving, less drama, more drama, la la la... poor little shark left in storage for a while. Then, finally (!!!) the day came!
The Outside of the famous Grey's Taxidermy. When I got lost (of course) I asked directions from this woman who ran an antique store, who called her husband.. he gave the directions, and said, "you can smell it before you see it!"
ummm... ew?

The biggest Sailfish in the world. I caught it. Okay, not really.

I found the place that they keep the bodies. I hope they bring my shark soon!!!

These are not my fish. But a very nice man named Jo-Jo let me take a picture of them!

TTTTTTTAHHHHHHHHH DAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Caroline and the Shark. Wheee! Yay!!! Yipeee!!!
.. and the guy that took the pic said I was the FIRST person to ask him to take a picture! Can you imagine? This is a very proud moment. IT's not often that a fisher(wo)man can back up the tale.!!!!
And with that, I have to say...... I had a very great Friday! I hope that you did, too!!!
