Is MacDonald's REALLY the reason the English are getting fat??

hmmmmmmmmm...I"m not sure what to think about this.  On one hand, I firmly believe that fast food IS bad for you and WILL make you fat.  But, every person has to make a personal choice whether or not to go to places like McDonald's or Checker's or Subway...and if you choose to visit these places often, don't be surprised if you end up with a lot more junk in your trunk..and everywhere else!

Prince Charles Says Ban McDonald's Food

LONDON (AP) — Prince Charles suggested Tuesday on a visit to the United Arab Emirates that banning McDonald's fast food was crucial for improving people's diets, a British news agency reported.

Charles made the comments while visiting the Imperial College London Diabetes Center in Abu Dhabi for the launch of a public health campaign, The Press Association reported.

"Have you got anywhere with McDonald's? Have you tried getting it banned? That's the key," Charles was quoted as asking one of the center's nutritionists.

I applaud Prince Charles for attempting to address the problem of obesity in England, but, umm..dude?  Your country invented the Chip Butty sandwich!!

In the United Kingdom, a chip butty is a sandwich made with bread (usually white and buttered) and chips, often with some sort of sauce such as tomato ketchup. [1] Depending on the region, the dish may also be known as a chip sandwich (in Australia), chip muffin, chip barm, chip batch, chip bap or chip teacake.

The chip butty is a common dish throughout the UK, and many chip shops sell them, primarily as an affordable snack. Chip butties may also be made impromptu by including a couple of pieces of bread with a main dish, such as fish and chips. Variations on the seasoning for the sandwich, apart from ketchup, include salt and vinegar, brown sauce, curry sauce and gravy.
