The US Foreign Environmental Policy is NOT stylish.

um, okay.  I hope that everyone reading this knows that the G8 summit has been going on in Germany this week.  But, if you've picked up a US paper, you wouldn't really GET the impact of this!  Considering the most emailed stories in the NYTimes include "dress up cyber doll for girls" and US travelers who can't freaking figure out how to get a passport, rather than focusing on major protests against these world leaders AND major decisions being made-  it's really no wonder that the rest ofthe world is so flippin' anti-American!!

I don't CARE about the bull_&it that politicians preach- this is what I care about:

At Group of 8 Meeting, Bush Rebuffs Germany on Cutting Emissions

Published: June 7, 2007

ROSTOCK, Germany, June 6 — As leaders of wealthy nations converged Wednesday on a Baltic Sea resort for their annual meeting, the White House effectively derailed a climate change initiative backed by one of President Bush’s strongest European allies, Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany.

The White House said it would hold firm against concrete long-term targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, a major priority for Mrs. Merkel, the host of the Group of 8 meeting.

The meeting got off to a tense beginning, as several thousand protesters blocked roads and rail lines to Heiligendamm, the luxury resort town about 10 miles from here where the meeting was being held. Demonstrators in clown makeup and pink and yellow wigs danced outside a steel fence surrounding the meeting site, clashing with the police, who used tear gas to disperse them.

HELLO????
Does anyone else think this is scary?  The White House ahs effectively completely alienated the US already- don't you think that MAYBE we could try to contribute to an environmental cause?

If I didn't love Miami so much, I would seriously be planning my move elsewhere.

Okay, THAT'S Enough!  Had to vent....
