RUSSKIE RIDER

July 6, 2007 — DENNIS Hopper isn't afraid of motorcycles, despite the final scene of "Easy Rider" where he and Peter Fonda were blasted to kingdom come by a shotgun-wielding redneck in a pickup truck. At the recent opening of a show of Hopper's billboard-size paintings at the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Russia, the actor said he plans a motorcycle trip on July 21 from the former Leningrad to Moscow with Jeremy Irons, Guggenheim director Thomas Krens, and Russian real estate investor Janna Bullock, who sponsored Hopper's show. Hopper said he also invited Laurence Fishburne and Jack Nicholson. Among those checking out Hopper's art were Julian Schnabel, André Balazs and his daughter, Alessandra.
