TV CHIEFS were plunged deeper into crisis last night as new evidence emerged of programmes being faked.
RDF Media - already in trouble over a royal documentary - are accused of manipulating families on shows such as Wife Swap.
And ex-SAS adventurer Bear Grylls is exposed for staying in lodges and hotels when he was supposed to be roughing it.
Grylls, 33, gave the impression on C4's Born Survivor that he was a "real life Robinson Crusoe" trapped on a Hawaiian desert island.
In fact he was spending nights in a motel.
In another episode of the series, broadcast in March, he was shown in California's Sierra Nevada mountains biting off a snake's head for breakfast and claiming to have just water and flint for survival.
But yesterday it emerged he was staying overnight in a lodge with internet access.
C4 has confirmed that Grylls used hotels during expeditions and has asked production company Diverse to look into other claims.
