Luka Attacked by a Pit Bull!!

Well.. today was a REALLY crap day.  I picked up Luka at Kenny's to go for a bike ride to the Standard.  Luka loves  bike rides!  AND he loves the Standard! (me too!)
We were riding by the house where all of the Miami Ink guys live, and I stayed across the street (b/c they have an aggro pit bull there).  WELL, code compliance was there, talking to one fo the guys, and his put bull was with him (I hadn't seen this one before.)
Next thing I know, the dog has bolted up the street to me and to Luka.  The owner rund after her (she had no leash).  Luka, a slippery little puppy, was weaving around and around the owner because the dog was going after him.
Well, guess what?  NExt thing I know, the dog has CLAMPED down on Luka's face, Luka is yelping, the dog won't let go, the owner pulls his dogs head and she PULLS Luka with her and then the owner finally (thank god) manages to pry the jaws open.  And he gets bitten, too.
Um,
WTF??!!!!
Definitely the worst moment of my life.
Trust me, you do not ever want to hear your puppy yelping while another dog is trying to rip his throat out.
I was flipping out and jumped back on my bike so we could book it home- KEnny and I took Luka to the vet right away, and he was put into surgery.  We filed a police report AND the guy left us a note telling us he's moving TODAY.  So, now that Luka is home with us again (with one of those plastic radars on!) we will be riding the bike again sometime next week.
Me?  It's going to take a while to chill again.  And I"m never going to be pro-pitbull, sorry.  You know what?  IT's NOT the owners- it's the dogs! They're aggressive!  The owner was a perfectly nice guy- but his dog needs help.

I will be back tomorrow, happy again!!!!
Luka sends his LOVE!

So: here it is.  The picture we took at the vet:
