HISTORY OF VILLA EUFROSINA "CASA CASUARINA WEST"
The former home of South Beach Play Boy, Cesar Balbin, cousin of both the Bourbon Kings of France and the Braganza Kings of Portugal and rummored ex lover of Gianni Versace. The homes is located just 5 minutes from Casa Casuarina (Gianni Versace's mansion also located off 13 street) and is styled and decorated in the same manner. The home was owned for many years by a close friend rumored to have been Gianni's greatest love. The home was also a place of rest and relaxation for the designer who would come here often to escape the crazy life of the fans and paparazzi around his mansion. This was not the designer's home but his friend's/lover.
LOCATION
YOU ARE NOT WALKING DISTANCE FROM SOUTH BEACH YOU ARE ACTUALLY IN SOUTH BEACH. THIS RENTAL IS TRULY WALKING DISTANCE FROM THE SAND AND ALL THE RESTAURANTS, SHOPS, BARS AND CLUBS. This is one of the few vacation rentals located where you want to be, in the center of south beach! Yet it is bufferred by a large park giving you much privacy and quiet. Look at a map of South Beach before you rent any properties so you can see where you are going to be. South beach really starts on 1st street and ends around 17 street. But streets 1-4 are almost dead (except for a couple of slower bars and restaurants) so you want to be somewhere between 11-14 streets to be in the heart of the action and walkiing distance to everything. Remember it is frequently impossible to get cabs or parking in South Beach on weekends and the police is out in full force to catch DUI's so you want to be in walking distance to everything and not have to drive yourself.
This reantal is enviously located on 13 street but buffered from noise and traffic by Flamingo Park. It is just a 3 minutes walk to Lincoln Road but go in another direction and walk for 4 minutes and you are on the beach and the famous Washington Avenue and Ocean Dirve. These are South Beache's main streets and attractions and you can walk thru all of South Beach from here. You will have absoultely no need for cabs or parking. You will never use a car if you are here. You are not located in the far away South Point area or north of Lincoln Road either where you would need to wait at least 15 minutes for cabs (when they are not busy) and then ride for ???? (depending on where you are going and car traffic). Often Miami Beach cabs do not even know where they are going (recent immigrants). Another great plus is that you and your group can break up and come home as each one needs or pleases or just to freshen up, change wardrobes or relax for a few minutes and then just walk right back out. It is like staying in Disney in one of the 3 MAIN interior hotels versus staying outside the park in another hotel.
THE PROPERTY
This is a huge mansion which has had 3 apartments carved out of it. You are renting the main house and it is aproximately 4000 Square feet. The home can accomodate a huge amount of people and has 2 large living rooms plus an almost 1,000 square foot master bedroom (total master suite size is aproximately 2,000 sq ft). (currently we are planning on diving this into 4 regular size master bedrooms and may be done by time of your needed date). The home also has 2 additional bedrooms. This is one of South Beache's newer property's.
All the linens, kitchen utensils, essential cleaning and bathroom supplies are provided. Also housekeeper, cook, concierge and or butler are available at an additional charge from an independant contractor and subject to availability.
$3500 deposit required for the 1 week stay.
$3500 rental cost per week from June 1-November 20.
$4500 rental cost per week from November 20-May 30, 2008.
$7500 rental cost per week for New Years.
