She is tremendously good company and, as the sun streams through the window over nearby Primrose Hill in North London, we are having a lively discussion about sex.
Or, more accurately, Diana's trying to remember how many men she's slept with.
"Oh gosh...there were certainly a lot of them. I don't really recall..." she says, eyes twinkling. "But that includes very slight and quick flings, you know: one-night stands and that sort of thing...
"There was a time when, although I didn't have the energy to go out looking for men, if they turned up, I slept with them. It sort of cheered me up, that sense this person wanted me. And, of course, the sex was fun."
