Wow!
Isn't it amazing how some people are able to take the crazy ideas in their head and then translate them into something tangible?  Alice in Wonderland is such a bizarro story- it's dark and mysterious, yet the original Disney tried to tame it.  Well, as much as they could, considering it's basically a book about a drug induced trip.
 
Anyhow, here are a couple of the promo photos for Wonderland!
Jonny Depp as the Mad Hatter and Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen.  Amazing!

Maybe it's the black and white prison stripe shirts, but Burton musthave been channeling the Addams Family when he did his version of Deeand Dum. Matt Lucas plays both of them. They look menacing and slightlyMongoloid in this illustration—you wouldn't want to be running intothis pair on the playground anytime soon. Disney's cartoon twins intheir bright, primary color jumpers look like effete clowns bycomparison. Tenniel's twins look like thugs.
