Crackity CRACK! My macbook + mercury in retrograde = a big fat mess
Wow. Well, as you all know, I travel quite a bit, and I like to update this little bit of Miami wherever it may be, even if that is in a cold spot of Maine in September, Ohio, or Arizona! This means that I have a very, very close relationship with my computer. In fact, the other day, it ws behaving so nicely that I said to myself- why, Caroline, this MacBook has been so great! I am so happy that I bought it only last year and I am covered until 2011 with my AppleCare.
So imagine my feeling when I opened up my computer yesterday and the screen was CRACKED??? Well, as they say, it must have happened somehow.
Sad, sad moment.
Not as sad as when I went to the apple store at the MAINE MALL in PORTLAND, MAINE with my new "punk rock" Mac (as I am now calling it) and they told me it would be nearly $1000 to fix it!!
Yes, you are reading correctly= $750 PLUS labor.
Well, I just hightailed it out of there and found a nice little certified MAC repair shop and they're doing it for much less next week. But, it's Maine- so they're closed on the weekend, and, to tell you the truth, I'm getting used to the slash on my screen. It's not soooo bad. And really, it's kind of artsy... or, at least, that's what I'm telling myself!
Want to see it?
Here it IS!!

Though it COULD be worse- look what I found in google images!
