Today I was watching the BBC "Breakfast" show, which is mildly entertaining.  I usually just have it in the background as I do my morning things- but i stopped to watch today when they interviewed Nicola Benedetti!
The winner of the 2004 UK Young Musicians award, Nicola has been on the scene for a while in the UK- of course, we don't always hear about British talent over in the US!
Watching her, you just want to listen- she has a great energy, and is clearly super talented.  I'm looking forward to hearing and reading more about her.
Oh- and her violin?  It's fro the early 18th century and is on loan to her from the president of Bank of America.  It's nice to know that all of those credit card fees are somehow finding their way to the arts!
