In the Land of the Free. "The "Angola 3" Documentary!
Well, here at MiamiStyleWatch, we're not all about the fluff.
During my daily reads of the online papers, I found an interview with Robert King, a member of the "Angola 3" Black Panthers, who were put into solitary confinement in the Louisiana State Penitentiary in 1969. Yes, that is correct. They were in Solitary confinement for 30 YEARS before one was released and the other two were put into dormitories. Could this be because they were members of the Black Panther Party? Maybe. Probably.
I understand the need for prisons, and punishment, etc... but our system is so twisted that 3 men convicted of murdering one man find themselves in solitary for 30 years, while rapists and pedophiles walk on technicalities, or only after a few years? So very wrong.
While we are out policing other countries, Americans are ignoring the problems in our own system. We need to get our politicians to re-evaluate the penal system!!!
That's enough for a Sunday morning- but please watch this documentary and get a better idea of what happened to three men in Louisiana.
