Boo Hoo, Jackie Warner... Plus Models weigh more than 169 lbs and we are AWESOME!
Wow.
I have to say that I was totally annoyed with the online coverage of an interview with Jackie Warner, "weight loss guru" and workout expert. According to PopEater, which was quoting In Touch Magazine:
Toned trainer Jackie Warner, star of Bravo's new weight-loss show 'Thintervention,' is finally opening up about her weight issues. The 42-year-old trainer reveals she ballooned from 118 pounds to 169 pounds while in college.
"I was alone in LA, and it was a huge culture shock," Warner, an Ohio native, tells InTouch Weekly. "I was depressed and ate junk food every day."
ARE YOU SERIOUS??
Ladies, I hope that when you read this, you don't think that you should judge yourself based on this. FIRST of all- the woman is 5'8" tall! 169 lbs may be a few lbs over HER "ideal weight"- but I can tell you one thing- 118 lbs is WAY UNDER WEIGHT! Her problem was eating junk food- not the weight!
I am so sick about our culture's obsession with weight and weight loss- you need to be comfortable with who you are!
This also goes for people calling Plus Models "real women." Um, hate to break it to the haters- but thin women are REAL women, too! Can't we all just get along...
For the record, I weigh 165 lbs and I was PSYCHED when I got on that scale and saw that number... until I read that article, which apparently means that I should go freak out and have a THINTERVENTION....
(Yes, even I, a very confident women, am affected by when I read- hence the fact that I don't read beauty magazines, probably because I work in the industry and I know the many tricks of the trade and have learned from them!! ...)
So let's give props to a few gorgeous women, and call it a day. And if you weigh 189, or 159, or 109- you are beautiful!!!
