How do you spruce up dinner when all you really want is BEAN DIP?
New York City has been such a big part of my life, from living there to having the majority of my closest friends living there, that I think a lot of people think that I can't cook. Or that I don't like to cook! This is because New Yorkers go out to eat for every meal! It's just too easy, and there are too many options, not to hit the town every night. Ahhh.... just writing about it makes me nostalgic...
Then again, I guess if I had kids and I lived in NYC, I wouldn't go out every night. Or maybe I would!
I LOVE avocados. I mean, I REALLY love avocados. I'm trying to figure out how to keep an avocado tree alive in Arizona- and when we are finally living on the farm that we want to build- trust me when I tell you there will be many an avocado tree!!
I like to make guacamole- so, for my uncle's birthday dinner last night (my dad volunteered me to cook, thanks Dad!) I thought I'd start with bean dip.
Yep, bean dip. It's just so damn tasty! So why not?
But how do you incorporate dip into a nice dinner? Well, you just print a menu! (Oh, and putting the dip into mini individual servings in little glass containers is also cute)
So here's our menu from last night. I grilled my first steak! It totally freaked me out! I haven't eaten meat since I was 14 years old (with a small detour in Miami) so this was quite an experience. But hey, I'm living out west now, so why not give it a try. Anyhow, I didn't eat meat, I had grilled tuna and it was awesome!!!
